The wedding date was getting closer Dr. Roylott asked her to move to her dead sisters’ room. because of the constructions that was going on. But it was just an excuse for her to move into her sisters room. In her room at night he heard a whistling sound that her dead heard. As she stayed awake all night she heard the whistling sound again she immediately put her clothes on and went to Sherlock homes apartment early morning. Right after the conversation she left and Dr. Roylott arrived and attempted to threaten Holmes. Roylott snatches a metle poker and uses his strength to bend it. When Roylott has left Holmes, finds the mystery more entertaining, he picks up the poker and straightens it out again. Dr.Royalott’s step-daughters could claim third part of the family income upon her marriage. Therefore even one marriage would have ruined the doctor wealth.

Holmes and Watson went to investigate the house for clues. They found the rope that doesn’t ring a bell and it hangs over the bed to the pillows. Not only that but an unusual air vent by the bed and it was by the rope that doen’t ring and air connected to roylottes room. Afterwords, they decided to enter roylottes room. They found a wooden chair that was underneath the air vent and a table with a bowl of milk and a safe right next to it. Holmes left the room. Holmes told Helen to hang a lantern by the windchill and wait for Roylott to arrive. once he is in his room, then Helen needs hang the lantern. It would be a signal for holmes and Watson to enter the room and wait. Holmes and Watson enters the inn That they were visiting and it was across the house, so they Can see the signal. When they saw the air vent, they then quickly went to the house and they stopped.
